If it's an original truck rear end it's probably a 742 case. I'm not saying they didn't use 741's in them but I have never seen one. It's also possible that it's a sure-grip and if it is the only one they had that year is the good clutch type. For $100 it's definitely worth checking into.

To make it work in a Dart would mean cutting down the housing. (It cost me $200 to have one done locally). You'd also need to either cut down the axles or get new ones and if your running a bracket car I would only consider new ones. You'd also need to remove the spring perches and weld on new ones on 43" centers. If you can get a housing off of E-bay for $200 that is all ready to go that's the best deal but I'd definitely check out the truck rear just to see what it is. If it is a good 742 with a sure grip and decent gears just the pig is worth 4 times what your paying for it.
