Clips to hold hood springs on

I will be putting my hood springs on soon and i need to get the clips that hold them onto the 1/2 pins on the car. I tried push nuts before, but they are to shallow and the spring is not tight to the car. I've looked in a few hardware stores for them, but can't find them. Does anyone know where i can find them?

I have seen people use the ones you said with a washer.

i think i tried washers before, but they were too big to fit into the spring, if you understand what i mean. there is an ace hardware around here, i could check there! or give mrgusa a call cause i couldn't find what i need on their site since i dont know what the fastener is called.
