5.7 HEMI Dart

-
Welcome 5.7 HEMI Dart. I have a 72 Swinger as well and I'd like to replace the /6 with 5.7 some time in the future. What will you be using for a trans? diff? Carb or EFI? LOL, so many questions. Please post lots of pics and keep us updated on your progress. Welcome once again.

This has been done before, right? What are the most difficult parts? Does it require much/any cutting, welding, fabricating?

I have read that the torqueflight bolts up to the modern 5.7... is that true?

Thanks!!

not too hard to do--time consuming fer sure. Getting her wired up was a challenge. Notched the /6 K frame a little--had to lose the power steer. Kept power brakes, though. Had to cut and replace trans tunnel area--that 5 speed auto is twice the size. Sorry, don't know anything about the bell bolt patterns.

I've been at this for the past 8 months.....

1st the 727 or 904 w/bolt directly up to the 5.7.....

2nd it can be a sinmple or a compex as u want it to be as far as the ingition... EFI or carb... XV motorsprots has cab kits that are very affordable... and I know Fast makes a good EFI kit that's a little on the pricy side.

3nd ur can do ur front end a few different ways.. I opted to go the budget route: I bought TTi 5.7 A body headers and TTi motor mounts using my factory v8 ka frame... I also went to a manual steering box. you can do the RMS front end but it's cost around 3500 but u get a tuble type front end rack & pinion steering (pwr option) and disc brakes.... from what I hear this set up makes life really easy.. but again it's $3500+...

I used a weldteck stainless oil pan $400 it nice w/baffels..lol

I have lots of infor on this subject please feel free to pm me and we can talk.
