1) are the dowl pins still in the front and rear of the block. if so, remove them.
2) whats the history of the heads, wonder if they were milled

If it's a weiand, I have it's twin brother..sent it back and they returned it with a note claiming there's nothing wrong. I'll never buy anything from those nitwits again. The new Eddie fits fine, go figure! I wonder if the premium gasket makers would have something to fit?? If you find one let me know.

Double gaskets and a tube of sillycone.

F%$K Weiand intakes!!!!!!!!!!!! Raise all the hell you can until they take it back and send you a new Eddy intake!!!

No I'm sorry Should have mentioned... Its a Edelbrock Performer. Took it off my cracked 360. Doesn't look milled but How would I know?? And NO the rear pin is gone and theres a hole for the front pin that I put there. Can you really double gasket it??
AND whats this hole?? I've never noticed it on other engines??? Again this is my FIRST engine build!
And this is my Stock manifold notice it fits nice. What do I gain with a edelbrock manifold over the stock???

I would just run the stock intake. The Performer has smaller ports 318 ports and probably wont make any more power then the iron piece.

It looks like it was cut to me. The intake face looks pretty thin. Most likely the heads were milled on your 360, and instead of also milling the intake side of the head, they cut the intake to fit. Now you're trying to install it on a set of heads that are not milled, and it doesn't reach. I've seen it several times. I've got a Performer RPM, a couple Holley W2 intakes, and an Indy oval port intake that are all like that.

I guess that the 360 block could have been decked and caused the same problem.
