340 Duster Torque Converter

yes, but it has to be installed in the car..If it is, you can do two tests..
first, you need a tachometer..
place the trans in break-a-way first (1, not D), and while holding the car steady with the brakes, floor the engine for a second. the convertor will slip to a certain rpm, then the rpms will be steady..that's the "brake stall".
drive the car, let the trans cool off for a few miles. Then if the car is a manual valve body, with the trans in "D", and gliding along around 30 mph, floor it again..The convertor will slip again, and then the rpm that the engine "hangs at" for a very short time is your "flash stall". If it's a std automatic valve body, then it may downshift to 2nd, but you should be able to get an idea of the flash stall speed. It just is not as accurate as doing it in 3rd.
