Bonehead move of the week!!!

I am guessing the guy still has the car. When he calls, make certain you do not jump at it. Say, "I still trying to buy a car for less than a grand. That's why I placed another ad. How much do you have to have for your car?" Let him set the price. But, do buy the car!

I bought a 73 Duster Sports Coupe /6 with 37,078 miles on it. It belonged to an older lady but she had not paid for some work on it and gave the garage the car to cover the costs. It had been sitting under some trees for a long time. (But no rust!) The guy wanted $700 for it. I started it up and the rods had a knock in them when it first started. I told him I wanted a Duster to fix up but could not pay the $700 price for a car with a bad engine. I asked him how much he had in the car and he said $400. I paid him $400 and he was very happy to get his money. This car had disk brakes and bucket seats. It even had .85 torsion bars and a 727 tranny in it. Quite a good car to start restoring. We saved another one from the yard! :D
