I couldn't find this info anywhere. I'm sure it's been gone over but I'd like to know definitive info.

I'm looking for the correct weight of my '65 Valiant 2 door post. I've read anywhere between 2,600 and 2,950.

Anyone?

There is no definitive weight. Take you your car to a local dump, truck stop or any place they have a scale and see what they charge to scale a load!!!!!!

Here is what i found searching the web.

65 Valiant 100 2 dr post car, was 2530 with a quarter tank of gas. 170 slant six 904, 7 1/4 rear, 9 inch drums.

Shipping weight on a '65 V100 2dr is 2560.
Add for any options on the car.

As an example, the shipping weight on my '68 V200 is 2675, actual weight is 2830. Options/extras are 225 (20lbs), 904 (10lbs), undercoating (20lbs), 10 gal gas (60lbs). Without options would put it around 2720 or 45lbs over shipping weight.

Thanks for the info. Trying to calculate HP/weight and I need fairly accurate numbers. Light cars, no matter how you slice it! I thought it might be somewhere around that number.

And yes, I realize I have to take it to a weigh station to get it exact for my particular combination.

there lighter then the all plastic Dodge Viper. and the new vettes. even with a V8 there still hardly 3000 pounds

I don't know if NHRA has a website, but the weight that was used in 1966 for my '65 v-100 2 door sedan with Commando 273 and 4 speed was 2660 pounds.

They are alot heavier then that. I just got my car off the scale (Valiant Signet 65). The weight is 2820 all stock exept alu headed 318 with four speed, fiberglass front bumper/fenders/hood/doors, 4mm Lexan side Windows, Heater delete, Radio delete, no jack, no spare tire, alu bumper brackets, almost no trim moldings,no undercoating. And 10gallon of gas :toothy10:

I have a 64 Motor trend that says the dart and valiant wiegh the same, about 2800lbs. for the hard top slant6 car

Scaled my 66 Dart /6 at the track last year..2990 with full tank of fuel and me (170ish) in it

That was a post I put up. That was in 1976 as a legal NHRA stock eliminator car. I was supprised, how light it was, without any substantial weight reduction. In contrast, my 66 Valiant signet, 2 dr hdtp, which is a stripped down bracket race only car, with a 225 slant 904 trans, 7 1/4, rear weighs 2500 lbs. It has no interior, no hood, front bumper or grill. Based on the weight of the 65 Valiant, I was supprised the 66 was that heavy. My 66 Cuda with a slant six, 904, 8 3/4 rear, and some extra goodies, that added a little weight, is 3070 lbs.

So you only correct answer is to weigh the car. "Individual results will vary". :)
