Hey everyone I was wondering if anyone could tell me the best place to purchase a twin turbo kit for my 318. Thank you.

Last time I checked didn't think the superchargerstore was selling a turbo kit for mopar, they do however sell a a single procharger supercharger kit, they are pricey though, think their complete bolt on kits are upwards of 5 or 6K with everything. If you are strictly looking for a turbo for a mopar, please go to the turbomustang web site and look up on their forums, there is a thread dedicated to finding out and reading more on turbo charging mopars, think there is someone selling a single turbo kit now for mopars in the 4 to 4,500.00 range., dont know of a twin turbo kit though.

If you want a twin turbo'd motor your going to have to build it yourself and their expensive. Your looking at easily 4 or 5 for the supercharger stores kit, and probably the same for the other turbo kit. plus you have to build the motor to properly handle the boost.

Twin turbos on a 318 huh........seems like a bigger cu inch small block would be a better place to start.

Not knockin the idea, just different is all.......keep us updated on what you find

that kit, is a single turbo. I will get more info from them.

Right you are!

Procharger setup is better anyways..lol.

Well I have been talking to Prine here on the forum he is going to build me a single setup. Thank you everyone for the info I appreciate it.

Its just a matter of $$$$.

How fast do you want to go?

The build up with 450 hp and 500 ft/lbs of torque sounds just fine if you were replaying to me. Not sure.

Not true. Superchargers use a lot more energy (power) then a turbo. That is one reason Diesels use turbochargers when developing a system for an appliation the turbo will win out. Genereally cheaper and more effective. Complexity might increase with a turbo, however you can gain more power without the power loss to drive the supercharger. GM and Ford both packaged a superchargers in their new speed beasts, but I will bet good money if turbos could have been stuff in the new ZR1 they would have.

No, I was speaking in general.

"Speed costs money, how fast do you want to go"

Turbo: generally harder to package due to plumbing, down pipe, etc. Higher underhood heat. Required Oil and possible water lines to and from turbo. HP is created from exhaust gas flow, minimal parasitic losses.

Supercharger: no exhaust plumbing, lower underhood heat, possibly oil lines, no water lines. Belt and bracketry to contend with. Belt slippage. Tension on front of crank, possible bearing wear on front mains, and lots of parasitic loss from the engine turning a pump that is trying to force air into engine.

Go with a single turbo and map it right. If you wanna have hardly noticeable spool time if any....feed both banks into the single turbo. Thats a huge single turbo for a 440, you won't need something that big..but thats the idea.

Go to the forced induction section lots of threads in there both single and twin turbo builds. A lot of DIY but there are some great build threads t for 2 is a great thread have watched that process and great work done.
