Lets see yer Flat Black Hoods

Hey guys,

Im going to paint my 71 scamp either sassy grass or sublime and I want to paint my hood semi-gloss black to break up all the green, but im not going to run any scoops....Im not sure if i want the whole hood black or just the outside flat parts (those with scamp hoods will know what im talking about)....anyways lets see some pictures of your cars with black hoods (no scoops would be better, but it doesnt matter) and hopefully i can get some idears here...

Here's mine. It's gloss black with a matte clear coat. Gives it a semi gloss look.

I like the matt finish. I really sets off the color of my car. It really depends on the color. Some look better than others.

I working on the front right now so the bezels are missing. Not a really good picture.

A little twist on the scheme............and it's black base with clear and a flattening agent mixed at "eggshell" proportions.

hey guys they are all looking good....is there anybody that runs flat black hood without a hood scoop at all? thats more what im interested in since i dont plan on putting any scoops on my ride....i want to see if it would look goofy having a black hood and no scoops

Mine and AdamR is only stock hoods posted right now.

I don't think my hood looks goofy. LOL!

I'm just not into scoops. I leave those for the dragsters.

Here is mine 72 sassy grass (looks limelite because of bright sun), flat black hood and grill with 20% sheen. 340, 727, 8 3/4 and a few other goodies.

Hey Mullinax95 i dont think your hood looks goofy, i made this post to see others cars and decide if i like the look of no scoops and flat black....so for al you guys with black hoods, especially without scoops, please keep postin em
 
sorry, its a little too much effort to take the scoop off.

and once i get the fiberglass hood on the scoop won't come off anymore
