moparfest pictures (saturday)

There's a small annual Mopar show just north of Victoria at Beaver Lake if you're on the Island. I also remember someone posting pics from a Mopar show up around Parksville or Qualicum Beach... not much help if you're over on the mainland though.

Dave...the Island Mopars Club is pffft...gone...and so is their show at Beaver Lake. There was a great Mopar turnout in Parksville a few weeks ago. There is "Mopars @ The Ranch" in Vernon that was Aug 8-10, and "Mopar Madness" in Langley on July 13th, The Tacoma chapter of MoparsUnlimited has a show coming up on the 24th. I might make it to that one.

Really? That's a shame... I thought that show was great, nice venue and a small enough group that you could concentrate on every car. I found Moparfest has so many cars that you end up walking by tons of beauties until something catches your eye enough to pull you in. I can honestly say that the only Hemi Cuda I looked at this year was that blue 66 with the old dual-carb whale motor under the hood... Hemi e-bodies are so common they make me yawn now.

next year we need to have our own section, iam sure theres a way to contact moparfest organizers and maybe get a spot on other side of road you come in on where the custom plymouth was,

That,s where I was sitting when I ran into you 68valiant400.It was nice up there in the shade, andthe creek running behind us.It was cool!!Got to see alot of cars leaving(about 250)without even walking.

Ha Dave Did Not Know You Were At The Comfort Inn. The Guy With The Blue GTS Rag Top Came Up Together With Me. You Took A Pic Of My Hemi Orange Duster In The Parking Lot Of The First Pic. Man I Met Alot Of Guys Great Show. Already Talked To My Sisters Husband And He Has Already Informed Me We Were Going Next Year Without The Wife's. Met A Bunch Of Great Members. I Will Be There Next Year.

I'm a member of the OCC club club Randy, I was a member way back in 1987, when Moparfest was in Heidelburg, there was some 30-40 cars then.

I will be attending at our next meeting, about having an area specifically for web forums and what not, a location where we can all join together. Not sure about the parking arrangements (that's a little tricky), but a tent, close to the beer tents/registrations with a nice big banner...

I'm sure the club will be open to this, I've already got Adam's go ahead.

I'll be plugging away for next year.

In the photo I shot of the 69 GTS for sale.
I have had several inquiries as to how to get a hold of him. Too bad I did'nt get a shot of his full name.

Anyone know him?

Does anyone remember the orange 72 Duster 30 pictured here in the car corral?

I'd love to see better pics and if anyone remembers what the seller was asking for it, that'd be great! :)

I remember it, got no pics of it. It had a lot of filler in the rear quarters, it was cracked. The asking $ was reasonable for it.

Was better then this '73 at $12,500., and this is the good side.

Sorry Dave, I don't recall the exact asking price. I'm thinking under $17K, as I gave it a quick once-over.

If I can get the lot number he is parked in, I could maybe find out from the club who paid for that space... In the meantime, I'll talk to a few of the guys from around here, see if they remember.

Best of luck,
Giles

It's not super important. The car was sold to a local who won't tell me what he paid but has expressed an interest in a possible trade for my Demon. An orange "number's matching" 340 4-gear Duster pushes all the right buttons for me, I just don't want to trade my car for one that he could have paid peanuts for. In the end though I suppose it doesn't really matter what the value difference is if the car is truly "the one"... :)
