Hi all

I looking to buy a 1970 dart swinger 340 4spd car and now have the
opportunity to buy a 1972 demon hemi orange 340 4spd car do the 72 340
cars offer good performance compared to a 70 340?

Thanks
Colin

Well it depends if the motors are rebuilt or stock, if its rebuilt and the others stock id say go for the 70. But demons rule and you could also rebuild the stock motor yourself with the money your gunna pay for a demon it honestly all depends on the motors stand point. Id go for the 70 swinger and rebuild the motor with the money instead of the demon but its up to you man.

Who cares The Demon is a way COOLER car.If it does not run good enough its easy to build it up a few more HP.
Jim

Let me know where the demon is and i will tell you if its a good car or not?

Demons are my favorite and there is a compression drop with the 72 models, but you can build those up just like the 70 340 motors.

It all depends on $$ and what you like.

Post some pix of whatever car you decide on & Welcome

hi, performance between the two is not much difference. the 72 340 was way under rated. the comp diff. and smaller int valve didn't hurt it all that bad. retains same intake and port sizes are same. cam is same grind.
the 72 340 is very competive is stock eliminator. the 70 340 and 72 340 do run same class. the 70 340 has a smaller carb on it.

Thanks for all the help guys!
It is a stock motor thats been rebuit 10 over.
Any idea what these things do at the track in the quarter
stock with a 4 speed and a 3:23 rear compared to a 70 340 with the same specs?

Thanks
Colin

You will have fun in ether car. I would say buy the one that you like the looks of the best. Though I am kind of biest to 70 Dart's LOL.

Have fun and happy motoring!
