Looking to replace my door panels with those from Legendary. Are they dificult to install? Is the quality as it appears in the pictures?

quality is very good to excellent. the only complaint i have is the inner panel used for stiffness is thinner than the original. some holes for instalation may not be precut for the armrest. this is no big deal just use original for a guide. very easy to install. just take your time to get the clips lined up correctly.
 
I can't say who makes the best repop door panels.
I never liked the early clips (made of wire). There are later model types made of sheet metal and have a foam washer. Thats my favorite because it blocks moisture and wont ratle. Then there are the plastic very late model type barbed push buttons. Either is better than the wire type in my opinion.

I have the Legendary door panels and agree that they seem to be a little thinner backing material. I bought new wire clips and they went on pretty easily in the back seat. I need to paint the doors before I install the front panels. Here is a pict of the back seat that I did last week.

I found the material to be of excellent quality and well made. The earlier A Body models are a bit more ornate and requires transfering the stainless divider strip between the vinyl and carpet to be transfered, but all the clip and other holes were all in the right places. And for what they charge, they should be.
Installation was straightforward and fairly easy. If you don't have a upholstery punch, I'd buy one before doing the job. Makes finding screw holes, etc. much easier.
Who but Legendary makes these door panels? For the early A's they are the only manufacturer I'm aware of.

Now if someone out there has a seat "button" for a 65 Dodge Dart (Valiant in Canada?) I'll buy one from you.

I wish they had kept that carpeted toe kick on later model door panels.

For what it's worth, Legendary used my original 65 GT convert door and rear panels as the pattern for their repops. It took them nearly 2 years before they were satisfied with the repros (believe it was the decorative chrome mylar strip they were having problems with). For using my panels, did get a free set of panels - and they are very nice indeed. Legendary also used my F/R seat covers for the 65 pattern - but several years years earlier.

65ChargerDart - I might have a couple of red buttons I pulled off a spare seat. Let me confirm that and I'll get back to you later today after I get home from work.
 
I would be very grateful... this is one of the hardest items I've had to get a response from. I figured they'd be all kinds of old back seat covers laying around and somebody would be willing to sell one of the buttons... not so.
 
Not difficult to install. Be careful removing old ones so as not to destroy them. While the panel is off, you have a great opportunity to check the moisture barrier and take any corrective actions needed.

Put the old clips on the new one in the same location. My 72 had all wire clips. The 73 has sheet metal ones on the corners and and the rest wires. Start at one corner and work toward the opposite corner.

Good quality on the Legendary stuff. I used them on the Demon. Good luck.
 
I did away with the plastic moisture barrier and install sound deadener in it's place. I made sure it was tucked in the groove at the bottom of the door. That groove is very important for keeping everything dry. But the sound deadener made a word of difference on shutting the door compared to the plastic. The sounds like much healthier when shutting it "solid".
