-
WOW!! Looks great! I just joined the site earlier today, stumbled across your thread while looking around.. got hooked, and read the whole thing.. Your Dart is looking beautiful. I applaud all your hard work and attention to detail.. I realized after reading your thread that I do not have the patience I need for my project LOL .. I look forward to more pics and progress updates.. keep up the awsome work!!

Bill

Hurry up and get some clear on that baby. I'm keeping my popcorn at my side.

NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICE!
Congrats Flyboy! I have been waiting all week for those pix!!!

Congrats man!

:cheers::thumblef: Job well done. We all get to see the end results of your efforts. Bet your happy as a pig in #*%&. Can't wait to see the clear and the cut/buff pics.

No clear, it was too cold, only hit 57F, too cold once to vent the garage while spraying. Hopefully Sunday will be in the high 60's, so it might be the day.

I love this thread! I keep checking back each day to see what happened. Watching the progress of your dart is motivation to get my projects done!!

Again, no clear. Mother nature just does not want me to paint the Dart, below normal temps are putting a damper on my project. I need at least 3-4 hours of temps above 65F (preferably near 70F) to spray the clear, unfortunatly, that has not happened for a while. So right now, its a waiting game. :angry7:

Well, by 1pm it was 70F.

That was 3 coats. Matrix MS-42 Clear, the stuff is awesome, blows away any name brand stuff (except HOK). No more coats of clear, in the future will be wet sanding with 1500 and 2000 grit, then buffing. very little orange peel.

Great job!!! Finally all that time consuming great bodywork is showing thru a glossy black skin. I bet you can't wait to start the assembly process. That car has come along way. Already looks good without wetsanding.

That is an absolute beautiful job! I don't see any extra paint nowhere! It sure is rewarding when all that hard work turns out so nice. I can't wait to see the reassembly now.

looks like the clear laid down real nice for you. fantastic work fly.

I am pretty happy with it, I truly did not expect the clear to be that smooth, it is as smooth as a new factory finish, with a few flecks of dust, but those will be buffed out later. I walk into the garage once a day (or twice) just to take a look at it, it has been a long road to get to this point, but it happened. :toothy10:

Very Very nice! With results like this all the hard prep work really paid off. Yes stand back and take pride in your do it yourself approach to the hobby. Well done!
Bob

Hey Fly... Great job! The paint and clear look fantastic... all that time consuming body work definitly paid off.. cant wait to see it back together

Get some UV sunlight on that fine paint job soon. I hear that is one of the best things you can do while the paint is still fresh. Even if it is only a few hours a day.

When are you coming out to do mine? HAHA.

Love that colour, your a talented guy Flyboy, that will be an awsome ride when your done.Great job your doing.
