Engine vacuum & power brakes

The Comp 280H has 230 degrees of duration at .050 lift. In a 318, is pretty big cam and and your vacuum reading are actually pretty good for that size cam in that engine.

Switch to manual brakes if you don't want to run a vacuum pump. You will never get 15"+ with that cam in that engine.

Ram, I know you are right about the cam. If you heard it there is no doubt, in my opinion. It is just that my sons are Ford guys and it sounds like a mild cam to them. They are hard core Ford. They say my brakes are fine and that I am too picky.
By the way, if I would decide I want the whole effect of power brakes, how dependable would a pump be and where would be the best place to mount it? I been told the trunk? I also have been told under the hood. I just don't know. If I use a pump is it in conjunction with the engine vacuum and the canister or do I remove all that and the pump is a stand alone system?
