Last spring I purchased 225/60-15's to mount on 15x7 ralley wheels with 4.25" back spacing for the front. They just barely touched the lower front edge of the fender when the tire was turned in (straight ahed they are fine). I was backing up one day while turning and hit a dip that compresed the suspension some and the tire caught the fender and folded fender up under.
A 15x8 would be worse as would a 235/60 tire. I swapped the 225/60's for 215/60's.
