four barrel 318

How about for a mainly in-town driver. 25-60 mph on an average day, but wanting more at the red-n-greens. Is a head replacment and cam change really that neccessary on a stock engine for a decent 4bbl setup?

I don't know what "Red-n-greens" are, but I get the basic idea. The answer is NO. What you would want to do is just a simple 4bbl. intake of any kind and get the carb style of your choice on top. I would not go larger than 600 cfm on a easy driver.

A 500cfm Carter/Edelbrock would work fine as well with a stock 318 and drivetrain. Hwy. gears and converter being stock as well. It would offer good throttle response and mileage. The AFB/AVS carbs are very reliable and consistant.
