a833 for my scamp???

I have a B body 4 speed and i want to put it in my 1973 scamp i have a 727 for it but i was wondering can i put this b body trans in my car and just move the trans hump back a few inches or do i need to get a different tail shaft?

you can it take a little extra fab but it sounds like you know that. a shorter drive shaft is also in order and I don't know if it will bolt to the trany cross member.

You Can Just Make A Bracket To Go On The Original Shifter. Then Mount The New Shifter On It. bigblockdart.com Has The Way To Do It.

Is it a B-body or a B/E body tranny? If its a B/E body tranny with the dual shifter mounting pads its a fairly easy swap, I have one in my 68 Barracuda.

If its a B body only it will take some serious surgery to the torsion bar cross member because the single mount for the shifter sits under the the cross member. Also the bracket to relocate the shifter on bigblockdart.com won't work, you will need to fab up something on your own.

Don't forget you need to cut a very large hole in the floor and cover it with the floor extension hump to make room for the shifter rods. It will also require a new carpet.
