-

my bad i jumped on it too fast. mine i saw was not a rallye dash it was just a standard dash that went to 110.

Hmmm, now I'm wondering if the speedo head out of a '65 cluster will fit into the later cluster. Anyone have a pair out so you can check them side by side? I can't remember if they are the same size.

Calm down Guys and Gals!
Rallye Clusters started on A bodies with the 1967 Barracuda and were last used on 1970 A bodies only. The speedo heads had 2 different cable connectors; Threaded for 1967 and the more common white plastic retainer clip 1968 to the end in 1970. Until this 110 all I have ever seen were 120 and 150 MPH heads with or without Trip Odometers. In the center hole you had the choice of a blank, a 24 Hour Clock, a Performance Indicator , or a Tach.
As for the Key Light Delay option, Lets just say that I have had this option on 90% of the Darts I have owned so far.It is part of the A01 Option package.

Hope this helps,
Bruce B.

PS: MOBodyman..... That is a good question!

Not an option but for those of you that own 68 or 69 Darts, take a look at the lower screw hole on this factory heater/radio bezel. It only has one screw in the bottom center versus two on either corner yet it`s the exact same part number.

I have the rarest A-Body option!!!

Red plastic wheel well liners!!

For 1968, Chrysler offered the J46 option, which would provide new Barracuda owners not 2, but 4 bright red full wheel well liners all around. These were optional with any engine, but not many dealers knew or seemed to care about this, so it was a one-year only deal that found very few buyers. Only a few cars known to date have been found to have this option!! These were made of thin 1/8" thick plastic and installed at the dealership. There is a code on the build sheet for these so if you can't find what "J46" means on your build sheet...now you know!! 8)

There is a guy in town with a 71 Scamp that has them mouldings on it.

I have a curious option on my Duster its a black interior with white sail and headliner. I also have the crank sunroof, light package and rear electric defrost.

Late '74, NON-overdrive 4-speed with a 309 gearset. Still got it.

Factory D/Dart 1966. Supposedly only 50 were made. The water gets muddied a bit because Mopar put out a bulletin that detailed a retro-fit for 274 4 bbl cars.

My second choice would be any sort of factory installed stereo radio. Would not include the cassette unit as it was not integral to the radio.

The 1966 Dart Owner's manual listed AM/FM radio, rear speaker, and reverb unit as dealer installed accessories. Does anyone know if the reverb unit was ever factory installed after 1966? When did Mopar quit offering it? I have only seen one, it was in a neighbor's 65 New Yorker.

I agree on D/Dart however no matter how much is retro fitted on a 66 273/4pseed Dart unless it's an LO23 it's not a D/Dart.

My son`s `68 270 model with map light, rear window defroster, air, remote mirror, silver/medium blue interior, silver vinyl top, 273/904.
My 67 GTS 383/727/355 sure grip 8.75, black on black interior, with consol tach.. back in`76... I no longer have and I miss it.

OK, I was looking at this thread and it made me remember that I had this in my collection. Its an origional 71 Duster dealer order sheet. Im leaving the scan large so I hope that it will upload.8)

Basket case or not, that sounds like it`ll be one cool ride restored.

I'm gonna vote for engine optons to count because they were ordered and have opton #'s. That way I can stick a plug in for my car, vin # BH27H8. I missplaced my 68 white book so I couldn't get the option #'s, but I can show you what it looked like when I brought it home. It's a 68, 383, 4 spd Cuda convert. Other than the Formula S package and a Deluxe interior it had no options. No tach, no Disc's, no sure grip, no 150 speedo, but I like it the way it is.

My real vote goes for the Red Wheel Liners. Some one was repoppin them a couple years ago and I wanted a set, then I found out they didn't come on converts, Joe.

I wanted a set of the front wheel well liners.
I think the repops were like 500. Red also. Was that meant to represent the inside of the fishs' gills ? Anyway...
I'll bet there is an easy adaptation from a different car or truck. Black too !
I'd love to know how much queiter the car is on the inside with front liners installed.

A38 equipped Darts and Valiants had the usual upgrade to electrics and suspension to make them suitable. One of the things added, which would have been a big assist to civilians, was a 7/8" REAR anti-sway bar.

The repair manual diagram I found showed the bar mounted to the body and connected to the rear axle at the shock plates via links like the front bar. Supposedly most of the A38s went to the Ventura Police Department. Anyone have any idea how many were A38 A-bodies were actually made with the rear bar?

Many moons ago one of my brothers bought a '69 Dart GT Sport 340, 4-speed car. It was champagne green interior, the shifter kind of folded around on itself in sort of a three quarters of a circle and it had rear bucket seats sort of like a first gen charger. Never saw another interior like it.
