Carb selection?

Here is my idea. I have some extra money to spend on my Dart. The carb that is on it right now is a 600 electric choke Edelbrock (1400). I have a 318 with a mild Lunati cam, unsure of the duration and a Edelbrock performer intake. I spoke to the engine builder (previous owner of the Dart)the other day and he did not remember what he put in it, other than the type of cam, chrome moly rings and had some head work done to it. It was 5 years ago that it was built, but it may have only 15000 miles on it. The cam has quite a lobe to it.

UPS just stopped by to deliver parts from year one.

Anyways, I have had some issues with the carb, it needs to be rebuilt. I planning on building a stroked 360 for the Dart in the near future. So I was thinking about getting a new carb because I will need it later. I was thinking of getting a Edelbrock AVS 650 manual choke. What do you all think? I am partial to Edelbrock, since I don't think you can get new Carter anymore. I always do research before buying things and this is the perfect place to go to!
