ok so i have asked a bunch of questions lol. maby i can get it all in one thred. so i have been putting a 360 4 speed in my original '75 scamp 318 904. got it all in now the hard work.

i need to figure out headers. i know hednmans fit around the 4 speed stuff but ps? it looks close.

it was a ac car and thats all gone now. so what alternator brackets do i need? looked at pics and havent came up with much yet.

and how do i go about adjusting the shift linkages? i got it set up 'properly' with a screw driver in the alignment hole. but it wont shift.

and the clutch fork pivot. i found what i need and will post a pic. but want to see if someone has a extra one so i dont have to buy it new lol.

and on a minor note i will need a 15" trim ring. probably the same as rally wheels but mine are different actual wheels.

and if anyone needs automatic sb stuff or original style ac pm me. i might have just what u need.

i to own a 75 scamp and am in the process of putting in a 360 with a 4 speed. I have the majority of the parts ( motor, tranny, bellhousing, flywheel,k frame) so i am also in need of help with this situation.

Thanks,
Joe

o ya:) gr8 project lol. i put together another thread of all i have done for the 4 speed swap. its the :-D converting it is 4 speed thread. idk how much help it will be but it cant hurt lol. and let me know if you need anything or come across anything wierd cuz chances are i will come across it soon to lol

I don't think I can answer them all, but here it goes.

Sorry, I used Hookers that cleared the P/S. Being the style of street headers is near generic and they all look like , well, the same, I'd assume, which can be bad, that it'll fit.

Wait for the been there done that.

I beileve,
It's the pulleys you'll need, not so much the brackets.

I had bent pulleys and went to a March system. It works and the company was willing to work with you, but it was a pain to set up and get going due to short bolts and crap.

Did you take the driver out, LOL, only kidding.

You used a driver to keep the shifter from moving and set up the rods length to each lever in there neutral position? Double check that each lever is not in gear.

Sorry, no extra pivots. Those look nice though.

If you can post a picture of the wheel, that wold help some.

and if anyone needs automatic sb stuff or original style ac pm me. i might have just what u need.

No thanks, good luck in selling.

concerning shifter, are you trying to shift with screwdriver installed? Have you or anybody taken off side cover? each shift lever should beable to be moved by hand. takes a good bit of force. A cresent wrench may assist as a handel, but dont force too hard. Should be a nice firm clunk between gears. If these arms dont move, it possible the detent balls fell out.8)

OUCH! That would suck!

Tyler, Denet ball or scissor side plate?

so yours is 4 speed? i heard that hednmans fit with the 4 speed better then hooker but idk.

idk the pullys might be wrong but i cant even get it bolted up cuz my old brackets bolted to the ac condenser or around there.

how do i see if its all in neutral? i put the driver in and yes i took it out lol. but hooked the linkages up with the driver in. i shouldnt have to press the clutch if it is not running. correct?

and here is a pic of a wheel with the ring. i need the outside one.

i have not taken the side plate off lol. im a little scared to lol. i know i need to. can i try re adjusting the linkages then checking lol. i might go ahead and rebuild the trany this summer when i get some time lol. what are the detent balls? i know one at least will clunk. i had to clunk it to get the linkage hooked up lol

I believe all this was explained in your other thread, if not, each gear selector lever needs to be in the nutral position. say you have 10,12,2 oclock you want 12. and reverse disengaged. toward front of car I believe, if not I`ll surley be flamed. and with your screwdriver in adjust each rod to fall freely in hole. I`m assuming you know which shifter lever goes to which selector lever right? detent balls are inside side cover and usually fall out if trannys laying on side when removing cover. hopefully helpful.

yes thats perfect:) thank you. it might of been explained i just posted to many posts and was overwhelmed lol so i posted another makes perfect sense :happy7: lol. thank you. so all of the gears at 12 o' clock and then reverse at 9 or straight forward. i can do that

so i have been working on getting the alternator set up. i got what i thought was the right set up but it still is not correct. i have a triangle bracket that mounts to the water pump and the 'adjust' bracket that mounts to the bottom bolt on the water pump and the block. both brackets mount to one of the same holes on the pump. so i got it all spaced and what i thought was the best and it is not lined up right and the alternator can not turn the full extent of its adjustment. it also lines up with the farthest back ridge on the crank and the belt hits stuff so i know it is not right. can some people post pics of their 360 with and with out the alternator in place? if you have some lol. i have a different adjust bracket but it only mounts on one bolt and i dont think it is what was supposed to be right

thanks. i can see the top bracket and it looks the same as the one i have. i am thinking it is the bottom bracket. could the 318 a body w/ ac and the 360 b- body non ac alternators be different?

What you need is the non ac alt bracket, correct water pump pulley, you can reuse the crank pulley most likely and leave one of the grooves empty on it. As suggested above check out bouchillon for these parts or hit the swap meets. What you need is a complete matched set up, best found from someone that kept all the stuff matched up or that is still on an engine, such that you can inspect the set up.

ok. i was tryin to think for myself lol stupid me. but we got the alt all figured out and just need a non ac water pump pulley. it needs to be deeper by one belt location then my pulley. and did anyone else have to space their bracket out? the triangle one that bolts in 2 places to the water pump? i have 2 washers on the top and the adjust bracket in the bottom. i dont really like how it looks but maby its the same as factory just different set up. i dont know.

ok so i got the clutch all put together. now i can not get the tranny into neutral. it is in reverse and 3rd and neither will move with a wrench on them or the shifter so there is plenty of leaverage. what is wrong?
