"clones"

The bottom line, as others have touched on, is if you try to sell a clone,tribute,re-creation car as a original. Thats where the problem is. Some of these guys (Crooks) go as far as changing vins, fender tags, etc. They should be shot.

As long as your up front with the car,and what it is,and what it is not, then to each his own.

Here is a pic of my 340 replica. By the way,it is a 360. 8)

Your car is a perfect example of why I am asking what I am asking.

You have a gorgeous car with a 360 in it.

Is it that you arent proud of that 360 or is it that you like the 340 logo so much that you need to have it on the car?

I dont have an issue with anyone and am not trying to start anything...I am a newbie here and dont want to rock the boat.

I just dont personally see the point of saying its a 340 with the 340 callouts and all when its not.

Why not have custom callouts made with the 360 in it?

I guess, really, what bugs me isnt the scoops or go-wings ...those are hot on NAY car IMHO.

Its the specific "340" or "Twister" logos being used when the car ISNT a 340....ISNT a Twister....Just seems silly.

Its like calling a Dart a Duster. Same basic car with lots of similarities but not the same, ya know?

Be proud of what ya own.

I understand the idea of "its my car and I will do what I want....but the Petty Blue 340 shown above is a PERFECT example.....the decals dont make it a 340...the 340 does. (That is a GORGEOUS ride!) Same with Convertriple's car...GORGEOUS!

Seems to me like a clone or replica should live up to the definition of the word...if its a 340 clone, it should have a 340 engine......if its a Hemi clone, it should have a Hemi....if its a Twister clone, it should have all the stuff that would make it a true clone or replica. Nothing wrong at all with a car that has been pieced together with the best of different cars, etc......but it can stand on its own without being called a clone IMHO.

I dunno.....Like I said, just my opinion...seeing these different opionions has been enlightening.
