Personally, I don't like false advertising in any form, but as the man once said in response to the question about his girlfriend's anatomical protuberances, "They're real if I can touch them."
If you have a Mopar like mine, yank the original 318 and stick a 340 into it then I think you're entitled to badge it as a 340 car, despite not having left the plant in Canada with a 340. I've never seen the drivability of museum-quality cars, and driving my Dart is what "does it" for me.
As others have said though, have fun with it. If it works for you, so be it. Plenty of room under the tent for all to enjoy.
