Hey guys heres the scop im thinking of getting a viper tranny for my dart to go behind the 440 i hav planed on building this winter,my buddies dad works for the dodge dealer an is there viper man an he has a 2004 t56 viper tranny with 2k on it sitting in his garage an he not going to use it for nothing so he said it could go in a dart like mine if i wanted it,i can mostlikely get it for free,anyways what involved in puting it behind a 440 in a abody?do they make a bell housing for a bolt up deal or what?thanks MIKE
 
crap on a crutch. i have to know how this turns out. if you start it, you had better finish it :)
 
I can't even guess what would be needed to make those two make nice and bolt-up but if you make this one fly you may be making history.

There was an article in one of the Mopar magazines a few months ago on just this topic. There are several companies that have the adapters to make the T56 fit, and to configure the shifter to a workable location.

If I remember correctly, the biggest issue is to make sure you get the "right" T56- many of them aren't rated for more than 400-450 HP, so if you're planning on a high-output 440, you'll wreck the trans in a heartbeat.
