Anyone running an aluminum radiator in their early -A-? i have seen a few from places like speedway and summit but am curious how well they fit and hold up. i am currently running a later pass. side pump with a stock 2 core radiator and it works ok but i want a little extra for those 100+ degree days. anyone got any pics of their setup would be a big help too. I am running the stock 1966 273 radiator except the lower coolant tube was moved to the other side. I also recored it in a "high flow efficiency" core. It is a 2-core but has way more cooling passeges for awesome cooling! I didn't want an aluminum radiator (don't like how they look) so I went this route. It was a bit spendy but hey, if it keeps my engine cool its worth every penny!! My temp never goes above 180 degrees and I am running a 400 horse 340. I also have a stock metal fan shroud whick also helps, stock 4-blade fan too. All my radiator work was done at a local shop, most can do this stuff for you.

I would really like to keep the radiator i have and just add more cores but I don't really know if i trust some of my local shops. i think i might give a few guys in my area a call and see if they can recommend a shop then ill see how much. hopefully i can get it done without having a heart attack. thanks for the pics!

I went with a universal mount radiator that was a bit wider by far. My newer rad fits between the frame rails after notching and boxing the pass side by about an inch, and widening the opening. My pump is a pass side outlet. I paid $150 for the rad and it's a two row with 1inch tubes. Works great, and I'm really happy with it. But I'm not afraid to cut my car.

Not trying to steal your thread but you wouldn't happen to know of a particular upper rad hose that will work with the rad outlet on the far lefthand side?

If left side means driverside, I used a 72 V8 abody hose. I did the summit aluminum rad conversion on my 64. I had to trim it a bit, but works fine..

i have a goodyear 60878 on mine. the radiator and hose i looked it up for was a '71 dart if i remember right. its pretty far left. if you need it even further over, like all the way to the edge of the radiator, let me know and i'll check tomorrow at work.
