Spring Fling '09

-
I didn't see detailed info on the room rates (and a club code) for the AirTel on the club site. Are they still the official host hotel and if so, is there still a show discount? I saw other hotels listed (and no link to the Airtel) this year and was curious.

We just aren't printing their names in the exclusively on the flyers. They were just offering a $119 discount rate that everyone was getting for AAA, AARP, or whatever. They used to do more for us, then they stopped. So we stopped with the exclusive flyer advertisements. Other hotels gave discounts without being on the flyer.

For the Spring Fling Airtel hotel guests, this will be transparent.

Save a spot for me. Anyone leaving from the South Bay(LA)? Thanks

Just a thought......don't bring that pompous *** that called himself a painter this time...:toothy10::toothy10:

I was hoping to see the vert done RIGHT, but the other valiant will do just fine, at least you can drive to the show. Glad to see your coming Dave.

I second that comment about that so called painter. That dude pissed me off to no end last time. I wanted to pop him the face. At least my daughter said something to him. Glad to see you make to the show also. I might take friday off for the cruise...

Steve, how are the AMC classes going to be split (if at all). I was at the AMX club meeting tonight, mentioned the show and there was some curiousity. Are all the AMC's judged together? Are there stock and modified classes?

All together at this point. Wasn't enough pre reg to justify a class split. BUT we will be giving out 4 trophies instead of 3 in that class. If there is a Pro Street or race car AMC that car should/could go in the Pro Street or Race classes.

Contact me via email if there is/could be a sudden influx of AMC's we may be able to work something out.

GTXperience, are you bringing an AMC down??

My AMX is in no shape (just yet) to show. I will gauge interest next month at the meeting but realistically, I wouldn't expect many of them (a breed of their own) to make the drive ... perhaps 2-3.

He was so damn embarrassing. I told him so too. A fist to the face would have been better though. Maybe I should bring him so you guys can beat his *** for me LOL. :angry7:

The vert will be done hopefully this summer. Things are coming along very nicely so far. Top notch products, tools, more knowledge and lots of maniac anal retentive attention to detail this time around.

Hope I can make the cruise as well. Just gotta make sure Ruby is in tip-top running shape.

Can hardly wait.

I'm planning on going. don't know if the dart will be done by then but we'll see.

Add my name to the list of FABO members for your area please. I'll be there and look forward to meeting some of you. Mike

Also, for those who can make it, the event at Willow Springs on Thursday is a very fun event to attend. I was never much on road racing until I went to the event two years ago. My wife and I had a great time and saw some cars you don't see every day out on the track! When the noontime open track session was over I had a hard time getting her off the track, she had a ball out there. Guess I'm going in a new direction on her car!

I will send mine in the next couple days. Do I need to park it in the FABO area, or can I park it elsewhere?( I might have a spot either in a class or a vendor spot).
My girl and I WILL be there. Steve, your show is definitely worth the drive, rain or shine. Plus it gives mw the chance to smash thru al gears gettin' back on the freeway after getting gas or food!!!!!

Hopefully she might be sportin' some new parts.:cheers:

This is just for Saturday when we don't park the cars in classes. For Sunday the cars will be in classes an there will not be a FABO spot. On Sunday we try park 60-66 A-bodies seperate from 67-76 A-bodies.

I forgot, you'll be in the Helwig booth Sat and Sun.

Make that 8 so far in the FABO area.

Yeah, this year I think it would be a benefit to both our bizs' if I put my car there. I really like their bars and want to help out where I can.
Either way, I hope to meet some more members.

I am trying really hard to at least have the car where I can fire the motor but it won't be road worthy. My problem though is I want something to drive on the cruise that's wht i'll probably have the Charger down there. My Charger would look a little funny sitting amoung all those A bodies.

Hey at least you have your mopar to drive down there. Id like to go but it would be kind of embarrassing to cruise down in my Corolla.

we are planing on going cuda or no. i just cant commit yet until the car is moving on its own power i think i've got most os the essential parts gathered it's just a matter of putting everything together and finding a good drive line shop to cut a custom shaft.

Finally found this thread.
Not sure if the 70 will be ready by then,so I really cant commit to a spot.
I will be there either way,and look forward to meeting you all.

I thought it was pretty close. Is it moving on it's own power?

Don't forget you could alway put it in the Sunday "In Progress" class. Saturday is just show and shine so don't worry about completeness.

Wenco in Van Nuys has quick turnaround and excellent service and quality. But that's a ways from you.

I would love to go but my car has been at Sutton Engineering for 4 months and they don't seem to be in any rush to get it done. Kind of frustrating when you give them a fairly simple job that they claim to do all the time and 4 months later its not done.
