only reason i had to get a new one after i had my powerbook for 4 years was because i had beaten the crap out of it so much it wouldn't turn on. mac for life! i have a macbook now and i know it will live for another 3 to 4 years at least. under the same conditions, my old pc lasted less than a year, i had crashes on a weekly basis, and the battery lasted 15 minutes. my macs have never crashed, and have never needed any maintenance by a pro. never had a virus since i switched to apple, and that's the way i want to stay-PC free.
