I used a little RTV (black) on both sides of the large gasket that goes between the block and adapter. Clean both surfaces with disc brake cleaner first. No run, no drips, no errors! make sure you have the angle right when you tighten the bolt. With the RTV, if you try to move the next day, you will break the seal..
The cork and the fibre gaskets for the mounting bolt...are they new? You didn't say where it leaked. I assume at the block.
