You are a maniac. Been spending alot of time at home i see....I mean, it's only been about 2 weeks since i've seen the car and you did a f*ck of alot in that short time. Did you get the front glass out in one piece?

Yup, front and rear bolth came out with out a crack and I did them myself. Doesnt matter though because I have a differant front Im going to use and a spare rear.

Adam, did you manage to save the front and rear window rubbers, and if so, how did you manage to get them out. The windshield and back pane are the only things I still have to remove from the Valiant, and the rubber gaskets are in exceptionally good condition, so I was planning on saving them if possible. If it's too much of a hassle I'll just take the blade to them and cut the glass out.

I cut them out. It was the only way they would budge. It sucks, there $80 each.

I hope you know what your doing. I remeber when we though that car was "perfect"! I hate seeing a good running car get gutted. But its all for a good cause. Drove around my block today for the first time in 6 or 7 years, you might remember a yellow 72 or 73 charger by the firehouse. Its a big block car. Has 400 !!! anyway that is one hell of a nice car jloshotz posted with his thread! P.S. we are busting out the bleachfest 98' 99' 2000 video's. we should download the shot of your car and when the stumpjumper and firechief pulled up. OH ! stupid question that has nothing to do with A-bodies, I know there was a 413 RB for passenger cars. Did they ever make a low compression or non HP 426 (not hemi) motor? just curious. Also, did only max wedge heads have 4 bolt valve covers or all 413-426 ci of that era. Wish I had a yellow 69 roadrunner.

Dave can you make copies of those videos for me ?

Yes on the non hp, non max wedge 426's. they were just 426 wedge motors, I think about 325-350 horse. The earley heads had 4 bokt valve covers also.

Nice car man ! Your doing a really good job repairing that rust. You are lucky that you have so little to fix . This photo is what my wagon looked like before I attacked the rust in the trunk area . RUST SUCKS !!!

Not much more done at this point. I managed to get all the silacone out odf the window channels and some under coating and seam sealer scrapped.

adam that is one completely disasembled car you got!
does not look to bad there is some rust but i know you wil fix it!

Looks like your making good progress. I'm just setting here waiting till spring to get started on our Dart. It's been 3 years since we finished our Road Runner and I'm chomping at the bit to get started on another. It's been fun just cruising the past few summers but it's time to get dirty again.

Just a little update. I havent done much lately.

Heres the passanger side 1/4 after I pulled a big chunk of plastic off it. All the metal rotted away from the inside and the filler was all that was left. It was about a 1/4" thick.

What ever you do, don't get discouraged! When it is all done you will feel so good about yourself you won't be able to stop smiling! I myself know what you are going through, and it does feel good when you get done!!!!!!!!
I can't wait for spring.

One more thing. To feel like you are getting stuff done, Just work on the front of the car or the rear until it's done, then move on. I find this helps to motivate me when I start to loose steam.

This is what I was into about a year and a half ago!

Man, what a lot of work. Never would have guessed the car had that much rust. But not for long. Good work man, keep it up.

I didnt think it was going to need this much work either. Every panel needs attention except for the passanger side door.. If it wasnt for the fact that the frame and floor boards are solid and the new suspension under it I would be starting with something else.

If I stipped mine down that far it would'nt go back together
looks like your doing great job good
