Spring Fling '09

we are planing on going cuda or no. i just cant commit yet until the car is moving on its own power i think i've got most os the essential parts gathered it's just a matter of putting everything together and finding a good drive line shop to cut a custom shaft.

I don't what part of SoCal you live in(kinda general) but driveline service in whittier is real good with the quality & turn around time with drive shafts. We use them for big rig drive shafts & they are done the next day, sometimes same day if we get them there early enough. Most of the shafts we take them are twisted in two cause of drivers dumping the clutch & ripping them apart.

I thought it was pretty close. Is it moving on it's own power?

Don't forget you could alway put it in the Sunday "In Progress" class. Saturday is just show and shine so don't worry about completeness.

Just finishing up on installing the exhaust, and I can test drive it.

Dont plan on driving it untill it is totally complete though.

Maybe I will drive the 65 down.

I think it's sort of cool to see cars in progress. It confirms the owner did the work themselves on the car. Not something they just bought and magically appears at a show all finished.

Johnny Dart, you've done a great job and it shows what someone with skill, patience and knowledge can accomplish. We have/encourage cars of all levels to come out to our show. Primered Dusters next to 71 Hemi Cuda's, it's all good! But sometimes the guys with drivers and project cars get a little overwhemed with the nice cars and think it's impossible feat for them to accomplish in thier garage.

I guarantee when Dave66valiant brings his car when it's done people will remember this scene....

I would like to bring my 64 and show the progress up to date but then I would'nt have a car to drive on the cruise. Logistics won't allow me to bring both the Charger and the Dart.

95% chance i will be there
50% chance my car will be with me..
i am probably bringing my 64 belvedere will that help your car count or only "a" bodies...?

It's all good. You don't have to bring your A-body to be in the Saturday FABO reserved section.

I just sent in my pre reg today. Look foward to being at the show & seeing some new members I haven't met yet & catching up with the ones I have met. Still debating on bring my daughters 70 dart(kinda hard to drive to cars at once).

I would love to go but my car has been at Sutton Engineering for 4 months and they don't seem to be in any rush to get it done. Kind of frustrating when you give them a fairly simple job that they claim to do all the time and 4 months later its not done.
I share in your misery!!! What in the world are you having Ed do that takes four month's??

I'll be at the Fling one or both the days. Won't have a car to put in it this time, but I'll definately come by and take pics of everyone's cars for my collection. Mainly going to be looking for parts for the Duster's /6 to 360 conversion and some other parts for my dad's '70 Super Bee. Can't wait for the show.

Are you signed up to put your Barracuda in the Saturday reserved FABO section???

Steve, I'm going to be there Saturday and Sunday but can't decide which car to bring. The new 68 Dart is probably the most reliable. It's pretty much original /6 car except for the rally wheels, new paint and new interior. Engine bay has never been touched. Which category should I sign up for Steve.

If I can get Ruby ready I may bring her on Sunday in the modified Early A body section.

Here is the 68 Dart Slideshow http://s302.photobucket.com/albums/nn99/bigwalldave/?albumview=slideshow

I want to be in the FABO section for sure. Please include a spot for me Steve. I will be there for sure. The Friday

Thanks

I have a great solution, bring one car one day and the other the next day. Same price. I'd bring the Ruby the 66 on Sunday. ;)

Dart would be in A-body stock. Unless it's in a half done in progress type of deal. I can't pop up the pictures of the 68 Dart on this computer.
