Other hobbies?

Since I was a kid, but I can't read a note, and I don't have the patience to even learn tab, I tried it and got frustrated, but I can hear any tone and blend in like water so I guess I play by ear and I can pretty much pick up any musical instrument and just play.

I'm terrible at math and paying attention to written material but music is one thing that just comes natural to me.

I'd probably be pretty dangerous if I could read music and apply it to the fretboard though, but that won't happen any time soon.

I know what you mean. I can take off pretty good but don't know what I'm playing. I make it up as I go. I can play my on little riffs another words. I've been playing around with "Sweet Home Alabama" tabs for awhile. I try to keep it fun instead of frustrating. Keep it a hobby, keep it a hobby. :-D

Oh man, you jazz players are the best, most versatile guitar guys ever.
I love listening to jazz guitar with all the weird changes and strange notes, very different style altogether, but cool and hard to immitate.

I absolutely marvel at there playing... it's waaayyy out of my league.

I need to learn more blues and take from there I believe.

Mine include off roading with a couple of toys

After all that, I like to read books, watch DVD's eat popcorn and be a Movie Critic, occasionally I play Playstation....and no Fantasy Games....I prefer Simulation Games like any kind of racing, flying or fighting games.

As you can tell, I am pretty boring.

Where do you ride at? Ever get out to Glamis? That is a nice bike you have. My Dad used to race 250R three wheelers back in the day. He knows how to do the killer head work on them.

Prine; Please tell us about your turbocharger project/Dart.

Looks very interesting. Nice car, by the way!!!

Knife making... I hear ya!

What type of wood is that?
That one is curly birch. It's interesting stuff to work with as it seems capable of taking any shape imaginable. The finish is nothing more than vigorously-rubbed beeswax and seems to be holding up surprisingly well.

I have a few music sites. I enjoy helping Indie bands. My daughter is a great singer, but only likes it as a hobby, so I help bands instead.

I also enjoy radios, scanners & communications receivers.

I'm reading these posts and realizing that I have a lot in common with the rest of you guys. I either have done some of the same things, or want to. Right now my life is too busy with work and taking care of my family to allow any time for many of my hobbies.

When I do have time I like to go to swap meets, garage sales and flea markets to look for old stuff that I think is cool. I am a pack rat so I collect anything I like.
I collect vintage bikes, mostly BMX and freestyle bikes from the 70's and 80's.
I recently raced BMX again and hope to buy and race a bike this summer with my soon to be 4 year old daughter.
I sort of collect lawn tractors. I have about six including a few Simplicity, Wheel Horse and an old Sears.
I enjoy collecting small toy cars, anything from a new HotWheels to an old Buddy L tin truck. I'm not serious with this, I just like to look at them on the shelf.
I ride my bike to work in the warmer months for some exercise and to give myself time to think.
I enjoy having some cold beers with friends and hanging out in the garage bench racing
I've recently started to like to cook. This has stemmed from cooking on the grill. I realized I was still hungry in the winter months so I began to make meals inside the house.
Getting an ATV is on the short term list, but I'm not sure where I'd put one...

here we go...
along with my abody mopars, i also have a collection of other automotive toys (no rice or bowties though)
i also ride atvs with the wife and kid, i have a 2000 banshee and 86 atc200,wife has a 99 blaster, and my daughter just got a new yamaha grizzly125.
i have a boat 1978 avenger 23 foot jet with a ford 460, and a 1988 kawi 440 jetski,and a motorhome 1978 dodge 18footer..
i have run demolition derbies here for the past 13 years (this will be my last season)
i also race mini stocks at the local dirt track..
but my latest interest is old headlights, taillights and guages...
i used to be into models, collecting coins, stamps, and r/c cars maybe i should off some of those to get my other stuff finished..

I've been kind of looking around for a wild grain of wood to make some grips for my pistol grip shifter. Thanks.

Weightlifting, running when I can find a partner. I was into schutzhund ( a German dogsport) but there aren't any good decoys around here anymore. I used to have alot of pasttimes but as I got older my hobby partners bailed out on me so now it's pretty much just Mopars & weights.

driving my honda rancher fourwheeler, shooting high powered rifles, hunting, fishing, fly fishing, and hanging out with the girlfriend and kid

watching hockey (Go Amerks!), trying to play my guitar, visiting my friends and i can never seem to get enough of this!
