That's not snow. Funny that nobody can drive in it.
Not funny that the house burned down. What caused the house fire?

Far as they can tell it is was electrical related. He said he had a candle lit in the living room which is close to the kitchen but said he put it out to when he went to bed.

Here is a clip of our paper. My uncles house was on Old Roberts Church Rd.

"Sunday night and Monday morning, including downed trees and power lines, accidents, and three house fires.

Anderson County dispatchers said county firefighters responded to house fires in Anderson at 9 p.m. Sunday on Shawnee Avenue and another two hours later on U.S. 29 South. Then firefighters went to another fire at 5 a.m. Monday at Old Roberts Church Road. No injuries were reported, according to dispatchers."

Doubtful, but maybe he can get the electric company to cover the loss of the house.

My poor uncle's house burnt slap to the ground last night!!! He went to sleep kind of early because the power went out. He woke up for some reason and opened the door to the kitchen area and fire and smoke blew him back. He has nothing. My mom called and informed me this morning. He is staying at his son's house and they are taking care of him. They went to the drug store to get his prescriptions filled and then went bought him some clothes. I don't know if he had insurance. Poor fellow! I hate that for him.

I am glad that your uncle is ok mullin, But I know it is hart breaking for you and your uncle and family.
my prayers to all of you, There was a house that burnt down during our snow storm close by, Everyone is ok, But when I drove over to check on them I was hart broken seeing the family on the drive way :pale:.
They thanked me for stopping by and everyone was ok, But sad.

I just got off the phone with my cousin and he said that it was electrical. My uncle woke up because he was extremely hot. When he stood up he could not breathe so he crawled on the floor to get out of the house. Well the way he normally leaves the house was where the fire was located. The fire had been smoldering in the kitchen/porch area so when my uncle opened the door a back draft occurred. So he turned around and escaped out the front door. He was lucky he woke up... there was no smoke detectors in that area and they don't know why the others didn't go off.

I told them to let me know if I could help out in anyway.

Ax,

Sorry to hear about your uncle. That really sucks. No insurance makes it suck that much worse.

Cool bird pics though!

Abodyjoe,

Great dog pics! Those two don't seem to mind the snow at all, lol! They are great looking dogs. You need to get those guys a sled. :)

I don't for if he did or not... I didn't want to ask my cousin if he did because I believe wouldn't be any of my business. LOL

I did tell him "Well he can build a new home now." And my cousin "Yeah that house was very old anyways." So I'm thinking he did. I might can help out building him a new one or something since that's what I do for a living. :-D

I left LI 15 years ago and never had second thoughts. No state income taxes in Texas. It is 80 degrees and sunny today. Some day I will have the 'Cuda done and I will be melting asphalt on winter days like this.

This winter has been crazy around here, we usually get a inch or so for one day during the winter, then its done. This year we got 18 inches in the city, at seal lvl. over Christmas time.

And its been snowing on and off every few weeks since then. Where is spring? I got a boat to launch, and a Scamp to sand and primer.

I saw that they are posting Blizzard Warning for Minnesota!

It is 46 in Oklahoma City and is 76 in Dallas Texas ... no kinding! The weather man was getting a kick out of it. 30 degrees difference!
