Colorado salvage yards

If the one he is talking about is north of Denver on I-25, that is Speedway Auto salvage. Get off on the Erie exit and get on the frontage road northbound. There is erie auto parts right on the frontage road and directly east of it is speedway.

I hit that this weekend.

They've got about 5 or 6 dusters, and 4 or 5 darts, all in various states of decomposition. I also saw 2 late 60's cudas, and a few valiants. They're all pretty well stripped, and they're all pretty well stock, what's left anyways. Although, if you feel like ripping parts off some older Diplomats.. :) There's two rows, one mostly plymouth, the other mostly dodge, about 500 yards long, and about 60 cars in total. Didn't see one past 1985.

Lots of dirt, lots of decay, lots of rust. Don't expect to find any usable panels. Of course, there could be some good parts under all the junk, but I didn't get the opportunity to look too close.

Not a bevy of treasures, althogh there was a sad Coronet 440 that warranted further inspection.. Also, the owner is a bit of a codger. I only got to look around because the girl I was with had a cool T-shirt on. Oh, and be prepared to be one of the only english-speakers there.

Also, if you've got a chevy or a ford, you're in a better position out here.. His Chevy selection was *massive*. Chevelles, Novas, Camaros.. Tons and tons.

Lot rules are.. No touching, no picking anything up, and no opening of the cars. Hell, I saw one stacked up at a 30degree angle on a pile of old rims. I wouldn't want to touch half of them, as they'd fall and kill me. :D

Leave your tools at home, he or his crew do all the pulling, but the prices I heard seemed nice and cheap.. mostly. He was charging a bit more to people who didn't speak english. I saw him quote somone $40 on a tire, then 5 minutes later quote a latino guy $60. Could be the guy just pissed him off, though. How he likes you seems to affect the price. :snakeman:

Fantastic lot for photographers, though..

Didn't get a chance to hit the "U Pull & Pay", weather started turning to crap so we called it in early. Might hit it next weekend or the week after. I'll update then, if anyone wants to hear about it.
