225/70-14 Anyone?

I compared the 225/70-14 tire package size with the 235/60-15 that I have on the Demon. The overall diameter of the 225/70-14 is 0.4" greater than mine. The 225/70-14 will rub in front because of this. Given the downside of trying to make more room, I recommend the 215s if those are the only two sizes considered.

I've read several comments on this site that A-body Mopars are not always square. Some have commented on having a rub on one side, but not the other. I note on my Demon that there is more clearance between the right rear tire and the spring than there is on the left side. ???

There are two things you can do to get a little more room in front. One is to drill holes on the underside of the wheel opening lip, then roll the inner portion of the lip up. The holes are to reduce the retention of water in the crease created. Second is to slide the fenders out to create the maximum allowable gap between the hood and the fenders. If this works, you can start reducing the gap until you get a rub. If you do this you'll also need to adjust the front door hinges as well so the doors line up with the fender.

Ended up going with 215/70-14's.
