Couldn't you just put some sort of deflector on the front so that it picks up air pointed down instead of pointing straight forward and acting as a scoop???
I guess I could, but then I could not continue this cowl approach. If it is a bad idea, why did the factory even put those plugs there. They serve no purpose that I know of, what was the engineering thought here? It had to be meant for someone like me to use as a one foot strategy per side, instead of the four feet of hose needed to get to the front dirty air.
I know your basic concern is ultimately safety, Rednesss, and I respect you for caring about the possible danger of this approach. But I am going to vote this idea YAY, until I see a bunch more NAY'S.
