so i bought my car about 2 months back as a project. i am nowdiscovering there are quite a few "no big deal" sort of aspects to it. I wanna know what you guys over looked just to purchase or get into your projects?! one of mine was the floor boards just to start it off....total replacement is in line.

floor pans, quarters, major rust issues......where i live nothing is impossible

Well the guy said mine was solid, took his word for it, needs both lower rear quarters and full floors to start...I don't know how my foot didn't go through the floor, I wish it did lol.

I bought my car over the net through pics. and comunication with owner!WoW!He kept hideing pics of d.side inside trunk,so I asked? He said PO had backed into pole years ago and had been fixed. No biggie, well they didn,t do a very good job,I bought it anyway(rust-free)It,s got a bit of bondo, but down the road, when I acid dip the metal will still be there to work with. It,s rust free and that is unheard of in Ontario for a 66 D/D.My car now has had prettywell all mechanicals replaced!Brakesbbp,rearbbp3.91,360/904 waiting on headers for duals. All done in 4 months!I,ve enjoyed every wrench turned,it keeps me young!!

I jumped in feet first, the only thing it had to be was mopar and a wagon.from the pic's I saw of it on e bay It was rusted to the gills and was gonna be my pro street car, well pictures were decieving car was too nice to make a pro streeter out of.But........ i got lucky and found wagginII on craigslist jaxonville and it is rusty to the gills in all the right places (everywhere) just the way I like em!!!Can't wait to get more roll bar tubing and back to work on WAGGIN II so far all I have done is cut a bunch of stuff out of it and install the cross member to attach the ladder bars, the main roof hoop for the roll cage and bolted in the dana 60 and made a temporary driveshaft so I can drive it in and out of the shop when I want to work on it,got the old slanty in it for now but I will be installing the 440 and 727 when I get the rear of the car done

I was told the car just needs an interior. The guy brought the car out on one of worst days of the year on a trailor, covered in snow and muck because it was October, but I belived him due to all the phone calls and emails between us.....end result the interior is the least of it's worries LOL
I have always done well on the cars I buy and have keep intouch with the old owners and visa virsa, which is how it should be..to bad one shumk can ruin it. Once bitten guess I will have to act a bit more like a prick next time. *G*

I didn't even look under the car. Probably afraid what I would see. I wanted a 65 Barracuda, had a for sale sign on it and it ran and drove good. Also I felt somebody needed to take care of it. So I got it. And dealt with rusty floor pans, etc. It was 'no big deal.'

I over look how much it would cost me to restore this Dart. All I saw was a rust free U.S. car.I cant aford to be doing this car but I am to far into it now.Good thing I have a wife that says no car in the driveway get out LOL.no ****.
