Does anyone know what size the fitting is in the intake manifold where the water pump connects to the manifold? Looks like 1" but I am not sure.

It's 3/4" NPT. If you find a source for that nipple, let us know where. :) My parts store doesn't carry one that size.

MoPar did at one point sell thins fitting in there catolog. BEfore I knew this, I took my intake down to the plumbing store. LOL, I walked in and got a weird look, but was instantly givin the part I needed.

If the inlet on the intake is 3/4 What size is the old style waterpump (bottom hose on the drivers side) where the water pump connects to the intake. My problem is the waterpump has a small outlet and my intake has a larger size so the hose does not fit.

Rick Ehrenberg sells the correct nipples on eBay if you don't mind spending $24 for them.

As you can see from this photo, there are two fittings on top of the waterpump. One is to supply water to the heater core, and the other is the bypass hose which goes up to the manifold. The pic says for 1970 and later, so maybe earlier years are different??? Anyway, you can buy a brass reducer bushing to convert the 3/4" thread down to 1/2" if needed.

I really appreciate everyones help, don't what I do without this site, so thank you to everyone.
The piece I need is the bypass nipple. What I have are 3 different sizes.
1. The water pump appears to be 3/4 when I pulled the hose off it was rigged up with a smaller house cut off, and the new house put right over top of it to accomodate the smaller size on the water pump.
2. The Intake bypass nipple appears to be 1" as the normal hose slips right on it.
3. The heater core hoses are the smallest and say 5/8 right on the hose.
So what I need is a hose to connect the water pump to the intake as well as a bypass nipple all of which to accomodate the smaller size that the water pump is. Also can I use any 3/4 hose?

If you have a good ole fashioned hardware store neer you, that has a huge selection of brass fittings,go there and rummage through them , if they will let you. This is what I do here in Burligton. I have allways been able to find
nipples and fittings that way. You might have to use reducers, or step upfittings but you can usually find something to work.
"Do not use Galvanized fittings" they cause corosion, and I don't think they are compatible with Anit-Freeze. If you have an aluminun manifold brass is the best.
The True Value Hdwr store here in B-ton has a huge selection of fittings and nipples.

I found a 3/4" to 1/2" reducer then I found a nipple to screw into that. Then the local autozone let me rummage through there radiator hoses and I found a 3/4" house with a bend that I had to cut a little to fit, works great with no leaks. Might all be for nothing though as I just a found a 340 for sale on this site I think I am going to buy.

That wouldn't work my old water pump, need somthing that is 3/4" not 1" I already have the 1" nipple
