About 7 years ago I was headed to the corner store for a 12 pack of Bud, due to the Mom & Pop store being out of my flavor I procceded to the next one 5 miles up the road. I do not normaly travel said route.
The car had just been out at the street for sale !/2 hr when I happened along. An hour and $1,000 later it was on the trailer to the house. The car was pretty complete original 273/904/7.25 w/standard rust issues floors, qtrs and cowl.

Current build so far minitubbed, frame connectors, home brewed cage, AlerKation,LA/Magnum 408 with all the good stuff Diamond slugs, forged crank, Harland Sharp 1.6/1.5 roller rockers, EQ magnums slightly worked, solid cam. Intense Blue Pearl will be the final shade w/blacked out hood.
I have been collecting new and refurbished trim parts over the years, hard to come by on these cars.
Still tossing around the idea of either a S60 or a Ford 9".
I have done all the body/paint myself. A first for me.
Basicly building for a street bruiser to putt around in.

A lot of 12 packs have gone into this car. Many more to finish.

Cool story and I like all you've done with your '65. Those wheels are my favorite style for Barracudas like ours. Great pics, thanks for showing.

Thanks for the kind words guys, I've been lurking around on this site for a few years, even before officialy signing on and I have to say I have learned a lot from here. Due to working out of state and not getting home very often it has been a very loooooooong drawn out adventure.
But there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Sweet car! I am glad I could help you out locating some parts! Keep the pictures flowing!!

Excellent build on your 65 Cuda.
I love the 12 pak story, and this sounds like the way to do the build!!!

Great pics and really nice work! So, have you determined how many 12-packs you can carry with the rear seat folded down?
Gotta see more progress pics.

After purchaseing the front wheels and explaining to the wife that I was thinking about black steelies for the rear she informed me that she thought the rears should match the front, in my mind I heard " BUY THE REAR WHEELS"
So after drinking another 12 pack...................I did.

Liquid courage!!!!!!!!

A few more pics, will not be any more progrees till July.
Thanks for the interest guys. I smell a beer calling me.

Can I ask what headers you are using with the Alter-k-tion? Power steering? I have the early a-body tti's but need to pull my everything out of my engine bay for repainting. Thanks. Dave

:banghead:Dave, I was originaly going to use the TTI's but have since figured that for the price I could just about do my complete exhaust by going with the Spitfire's. Plus no long tube header = room for the elec. dumps behind front wheel.
I know,I know, I'm this far into it one would ask why not?
But in the end this is a street car. I see no need to try and squeeze every ounce of HP/TQ out of it. If at a later date the TTI's would be a breeze to install w/AlterKation.
I do believe with the AlterK your header choices are increased.
I probably should have purchased the power rack option, but did not.
I've turned a $1,000 car into a money pit
