does it have the original style water pump?

i switched to the 70+ water pump and put a radiator from an 88 dodge pickup in my dart

got it from o'reilly auto parts

if you are not using the later style water pump and have the stock radiator... you might consider upgrading.

Try 1-800-RADIATOR. They will have what you need. They even deliver to a shop of your choice. I'm not sure of residential delivery. I'd get the AC radiator. It's larger and will give better cooling.

Thanks Guys. I had just hung a new "old style" water pump and was filling when I noticed I nicked a fin. Soldered it! Just took it for a spin. No leak. The next time I will upgrade> Thanks Again!

Solder popped! GOD I HATE MY WIFE"S 67!!!!!!!!
Recore = $268.00.
Is this a good price?

when you consider that ican get the radiator i mentioned above brand new for half that, no.

just my opinion
Oh well, I'm not taking off the new water pump I just hung. 1-800-radiator said had to be made $500.00+
Is the radiator from the 88 truck a 22" x 17.5? If it's the same size it would be worth the upgrade. I should have upgraded but did not know before doing the water pump!
The story of my life.....if there is a harder more expensive way to do something, I'm sure to do it that way and find out a better way later!
Thanks for the reply Dragginmaster...............

the core size is 18 x 26 which fills in the hile in the radiator support better.

I wish now I would have went that route. It would be worth trashing the new pump and converting but already pulled trigger on core. Again the story of my sorry assed life strikes again! I'm so used to getting screwed or screwing myself it almost doesn't even bother me anymore.
I do really appreciate the info though as I'm sure it will come up again. The wife and I will always own A bodies only and I am sure to go that route next time. Thanks Again!

try us radiator, made my new 3 core for 250, you can also try rock auto, they
sell proliance parts pretty cheap.

Well my luck is holding out! Add my luck to "Bride of Frankenstein" and what do I get? Recored radiator too tall! Mods to the center core with a sledge hammer & 2x4!
Tried to start, finally tracked to fusable link blown somehow, I hate this D@*n car!
Started, warming up, topping off fluid, lower radiator hose leaking. Reseat hose with 2 hose clamps. Start, warming further, leaking worse! Seam between core and lower tank right above bottom hose outlet not soldered all the way! DANG, I hate ABodyBetty's 67. I wish it would catch the garage on fire with it in it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why do something only 1 time when you can do it several times due to other peoples F-UPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Back to the @$$#$%%^^^&&%$#$$()*^%%$^&&^^%^& radiator shop!!!

Your doing better that me.... I'm still waiting on Griffin for my custom aluminum radiator. Been two weeks now. I call them to see what the hell is going on and she said she'll call me back... that was 3 hours ago. The guy that took my order said it should be less than a week and it would be ready for pick up... not!

I hate that. When I dropped it off I said I guess it would be done in a week or 2. He said "Land no, We'll have ya fixed up in a couple of days. As of going back this afternoon it's been 10 days! It's no wonder the country is where its at today.
If anybody has a need, I know a half way decent guy, who is always on time or early, trustworthy, honest, dependable, won't blow smoke up your ***, and will do whatever it takes to get the job done! It's me and I could do his job with a little training!

Update, radiator installed, broke down on test drive, towed home, fusable link blown, replaced, puleed #1 plug, no spark, heading to electrical forum, Thanks!

i dont want to beat on you, its not my intention, but... you may want to try another tactic in your battle :)
I'm sorry, the radiator finally worked out after the second run to the rad shop lastnight.
Dragginmaster, what are you driving at with changing tactic in my battle? It just seems like when we are fixing something other gremlins pop up all the time! The car had been butchered before we got it.
More problems came up on test drive of radiator, not with radiator, with electrical system. See electric section post, Help need electrical guru if your interested.
Thanks again guys!

No sweat, just wondering. My tacktics are usually very predictably wrong! LOL!!! The radiator is ok I think, but have not had it running enough yet to determine! Up to my eyeballs right now with electrical, I should have let it go up in flames but even though I hate this car, I refuse to let it beat me! Wierd that kind of sounds like first marage!!LOL
Thanks again Dragginmaster for your help and info!!!

Maybe if you stop hatin' on that car, it won't give you so many problems. Hey, it's worth a try...

rememeber to sweet talk it while the problems are going on, if you are cursing while all these repairs are going on things tend to get worse ;-)

at least that is how it seems to go with mine.

am hoping to actually turn the key on mine this next weekend of mine (thursday / friday) I foresee one problem after another arising, but hoping for nothing to go wrong at all, will settle for somewhere in between the two.

Good luck with the key turning!! I'm really not sure if I'm going to apply power to "BOF", I'll let ABodyBetty do that this time!!!!
Check out the progress at thread in electric section on Help 2 wire alt!!!
Good Luck!!
