Whats the typical cost for an early a body SBP disc brake set up...including all these parts.

all front end pieces (Calipers, rotors, arms), plus proportioning valve, master cylinder, lines, brackets, nuts/bolts etc.

Anything major I should look for? Or missing?

I have a line on a set-up and want to make sure I get everything I need. (for a reasonable price) Currently, the 66 barracuda I have has the single master cyl. w/power. I'm sure I could or would upgrade to a dual master cyl.

Any thoughts? other than UPGRADE to BBP....:angry7:

Aloha!

a picture always helps...

Well a number of years ago before prices go stupid,I managed to buy a complete sbp disc brake setup. Spindles, rotors calipers, pads, lines master, booster, all mounting hardware like bolts and brackets ,and proportioning valve. The calipers and rotors, pads, booster, lines were all new at the time. I pulled them from a 67 Fastback Cuda with a Dana and a 4 speed/360 which had been sadly rolled and totalled.

I paid $125.

This stuff seems to fetch better than $300 nowadays thanks to BJ auction influence.

I think the lower ball joints are different from yours, one ball joint for the drum brake spindles and another for the disc brake spindles. I would do the dual line system from master brakes evn with front drums.
If I really wanted small bolt pattern disc brakes I'd go with Scarebird Mechanicals conversion kit with the option of going back to front drums if desired.
That complete KH brake system is hard to find but you'll find it even harder to find a single left or right spindle if needed. I've read about people buying mustang spindles and paying for remachining those to fit mopar rotors and bearings. Just my .02

Depending on the condition of the parts anywhere between $200 and $300. The only problem is the condition of the rotors. The two piece rotors are hard top come by and if you do find them expect to pay some big bucks. Make sure the rotors are checked by a brake shop to insure they can be turned. If not they are junk.

Good to now guys. They want $450 for them. Not including shipping.
So if I go with the scarebird set up is that complete? New stuff too? And I can keep the SBP?
Aloha!

My eyes might be deceiving me but it looks like there's a front sway bar in the photo. If so, I'd definitely grab it as well as the LCAs.

Don't forget if you go this route the calipers will have to be rebuilt. I sent mine to Calipersonline.com. They did a great job but I went with stainless pistons and it ran me around $260 if I remember. All told I think I have $600 in my front brakes, new lines, master cylider, prop valve, rotors etc.

You are right about the sway bar. But they aren't sure they want to sell that. Its looking like it might cost me $600 to $700 (assumption) w/sway bar and shipping. Can't even slap them right on too. Might have to rebuild everything first.

Ok so moneywise. Its looking stupid to go with this setup. I'll change the single master to a dual and see how that goes. Then if I really want/need I can do the scarebird setup. Mahalo FABO. PM me if you guys want the contact for the brake set up. I'm gonna see how much for shipping and sway bar.
Aloha

They are asking $600-$700??? Tell them to go pound sand. For that money you can go with an aftermarket set-up.

actually asking 399 and 65 for removal...not including the sway bar or shipping.

I here ya...then after I'd get it I'd have to see if it can be restored or usable.

Not go-ona happen!

More then likely will go with the Scarebird... no rush.

Aloha

Just to let you know I got a LBP setup and a B-Body 8 3/4 here locally to me for $150 I guess it was a good day but he usually charges $225 for a disc setup. And I know he has more out in the yard, probably 25-30 A-bodies and half have LBP disc's. Of course most pieces would only be good for cores.

The spindles are the part that you really need. The other parts are
available and can be found fairly reasonable from calipers to rotors
FWIW
