Same here in CT, you just need to have a learners permit for 6 months and taking four drug and alcohol classes, or 4 months with the full drivers education. After that you can test for it any time.
We have to have a learner's permit for 6 monthes unless you're 18 and then you can schedule the test as soon as you want, which is dumb. Other than that, thats it... we dont have to take drug/alcohol classes or drivers ed. However, I'll be taking drivers ed through my school just because it will lower my insurance.
