The floor pans in my 64 Valiant are toast, and since I am broke I will have to make my own. Does anybody have any tips, suggestions, how to.....
I will make a template, I can figure a way out to bend the metal, even have a possible way to put beads in the floor without a bead roller........plus i need to fab a manual trans hump, any ideas on that...dimensions....

I would say use a piece of cardboard to get the general size and you can mark your bends and beads on it. I would not cut anything out until you at least have a rough patch to work with. Then you can transfer to sheet metal and bend/twist as needed. You have any pics of your floors?

IMO, Work on something else for now, Save the $ for the replacement panels. Just MUCH< MUCH Easier in the long run. Dont forget those panels are Semi Structrual as well.

My .02

I am unemployed and do need to get this done so when they repo my truck I have something to drive.......

The passenger side is the same condition as the driver side......

Hey we need to find out if a later 4 speed hump will work with this car I know for Sure where one is out of a 72 Duster.

I feel for ya; But you gotta get some panels. Pedal a bike for a month or something in the long run you will come out ahead.IMHO

Get replacements panels........sucks to hear about the job

Put a big rubber mat down for the summer, :munky2:

Here's a bucks-down choice: get some sheetmetal. Cut some strips about an inch wide to make gauges to remember the various big bends (mark them as to where they go). You definitely need to have the beads in the sheetmetal or else the floor will oil-can constantly. You can make a "poor man's" bead roller by making concave dies out of very hard wood and then using a forming hammer to stretch the metal into that shape. Use a bigger sheet of steel than what the plan calls for because the stretching and shrinking of the steel could deform the outer dimensions of the steel. Basically, work from the center outward and then make your final shape cuts. You are basically trading your labor for money.

I am unemployed and have been since july 08, with no unemployment benefits. So waiting to buy pans is out of the question, I have a friend who can weld in what ever I come up with, so that is covered. I have access to 18 gauge sheet metal, and have thought about different way to make the beads in the floor. I want to get the car back on the road, cuz if I can't afford my truck and they repo it I need something to drive. I am trying do things with no money, as i am not sure when I'll get back to full time employment...
I want suggestions, ideas, tips anything to help me do this the easy way not the hard way..............

I would scour your local junkyards, to find a reasonably solid donor. and remove yourself. seems they would`nt charge too much, and fab the hump. sell something else to purchess floor. good luck 8)

I don't have anything worth selling.........I have extra parts that are being saved for both my Valiants, stuff that has taking me along time to collect...
