Could it be my fuel pump or is my carb just bad?

Yes it does... When I placed my hand near the exhaust and then smelled it... it smelt just like gas... and there is a lot of carbon build up in the pipe.

also, since I removed the wire from the distributor I need a jump start to get her starting...

Will it ever stop!!! AHHHHHH...
