I need to repair some sheet metal on my dart, fill holes ect. I was curious if anyone uses flux core or am I better of just trying to get a mig welder, also what technique is the best, stitch welding, running short beads? any tips would really help.

I'd go with .023 or.025 (thin) wire Mig with the shielding gas. The flux core is not well suited for panel work. Also, you'll want to make small/short beads, skipping around the area your working, Too much heat in one area and you'll warp your metal. Mig welds are not very flexable either, so make sure all is straight before you weld.

MIG with gas is the best for welding car type sheetmetal. Best technique is well spaced out spots of weld to keep warpage to a minimum. NEVER run beads with a MIG on sheetmetal. Space each spot a minimum of 1" apart then keep jumping around and spotting in between each weld until the seam weld is complete.
