Post Office A$$Holes!!!!!

insure it for more that it cost to replace then make them payup
doesn't work that way. you will need to show a receipt or an ad to show the price.

Ya they are very hard on stuff. I have seen them drop kick boxes accrose a room before. They just need to start making bullet proof boxes so we can get are stuff in one peace.
BULLSHIT
No, that's not correct. USPS will, and is required to, insure at the customer's request.
If the shipper told you he couldn't insure it, something's off in his statement, because any value is insurable w/the USPS.

As far as getting brushed off and not getting recourse from the P.O., be a pain in the a$$, be obnoxious, go see them every other day, but by all means make them file the claim!!!
They are government workers, they want to do as little as possible, be as problematic to you as possible, just so they don't have to do any extra work.

Like having insurance and getting into an auto accident, claims for lost/damaged packages is what "INSURANCE" is for, make them fix the problem!!!

Mark.

being a pain in the *** doesn't help anything and yes it does make some people not want to do their job to help you. the PO isn't as much government as many people think. absolutely NO MONEY comes from the federal gov. the PO is a self sustained entity.
if it were insured for any amount (any value can be insured) they would have filed a claim. as for uninsured items, the only thing that can be done is file a lost mail form and hope for the best.
things get crushed, torn open, separated from packaging, hell even destroyed no matter who you ship with.
as far as shipping with other carriers goes, don't forget the postal service delivers some of ups and fedex parcels.
insurance and delivery confirmation don't cost that much and it makes tracking damage or loss much easier. don't be a cheap ***, buy some means of tracking.

Yes, I do work for the USPS. In my 14 years I've delivered 2 parcels that were crushed to the point of destruction, both insured and both claims were payed promptly.
