HELP ! what to use 904 - 727

here is how i do it...

the standard front disc is .086 thick, there is .061 disc available...

by going to the thinner disc...you are saving .025 per disc...so 4 x .025= .100

you are adding a fifth disc and steel....you are adding .061 plus the steel of .068 which is .129 ....

the problem is now you are not going to have enough clutch clearance,,,,it will down around .050 plus or minus a few thousand..

by using different snap ring thickness which are available from A&A trans you can get the clearance you need which is around .070 with 5 clutches...

but i do it a little different..I take the pressure plate that goes in the clutch pac and have it ground down .020 to give me the clearance...

I have done 3 trans like this and have no problems....two are in race cars...

actually have another 904 almost ready to assemble...just need to get a few parts...PLUS it is HOT out in the garage now.

there are alto red clutches that are available for the 904....
