don't forget thet "banana spiders" in fla, actually a golden orb weaver is the real name the females get a big as my mother in law!!! in south america they natives use their webs for fishin nets!!! wtf?!!

yea! i remember those too! I remember seeing a couple that were probably 2.2 inches in diameter. They had incredible webs. I saw one that was built on the corner post of a lean too. it went from the ground up 6 feet, and out about another 6 feet to each side, and connected to make a triangle from each end.

We had some smaller spiders on the front of the porch that would get "toasted" with some cologne and a lighter when we were out grilling.

that was a fun summer...
