New Process A903 1962-72 Cars & Trucks Inquire

Cast iron, top loaded case with side shifter linkage. Non-synchronized 1st gear with aluminum ring/pin assembly for 2nd/3rd. Main shaft 1st/Reverse gear has 29 teeth and the cluster gear has four steps.
It sure seems like I read some where that 2nd gear is synchronized !!
I wish I new more about helping you.
Could the shifting fork be wore or bent or even broken on one side ?
I hope a tec will jump in and give you some help.

Is the noise there while in gear, or only when you depress the clutch to shift?
If only when the clutch pedal is depressed, then yes, I agree it's probably a throw out bearing that finally locked up.

BUT, you mention it got quieter in 3rd, which tells me something totally different, meaning there's internal damage and not being able to shift supports that theory, too.

Check your fluid level, those "oil spots" you may have noticed on the pavement probably aren't just engine oil.

Mark.

haha how did you know about my oil spots! haha :-D and yes it is there while im in the gear and when the clutch is depressed...
