Opinions on FirmFeel???

-
I went with a stage 2 in my Duster when converting from manual steering -I'm on of THOSE people-

The power steering has already saved me in one accident, I'm with everyone though and would recomend the stage 3 as the 2 is way better then a stock one but I was still looking for more.

however it was done it was done right by my "local guy" it was sent to him by my resto guy who uses nothing but Firm feel for all his suspension in his own cars and he has been building and racing mopars professionally for over 30 years ,I would in no way advocate sending this sort of work to a shade tree amateur but most major markets have a highly competent guy in them that was what I meant by "your local guy " and this guy seemed to be balking at the price a little and this was the way it was explained to me if you feel different or have a different opinion well we all have one of those and I can smell yours from here thanks for crapping on me for advocating your friends product :thebirdm:

I'm not sure he was crapping on you after reading his post again and yours. Good advice either way. I might have a difficult time finding a local guy and would have to default to someone else's experiences with the "local guy." Guess you are lucky to have a really good one available to you.

I looked and it I did not see a rebuild kit for the power steering gear box, but there is one for the manual box.

Hope there are no hard feelings. It's just information and we all choose ourselves what to do with it.

STAGE III final answer  Boxing up a spare gear box tomorrow.

Right On! My comments were NOT aimed at anyone personally, and were made only to illustrate that you'll find very few places (or none) setup to, and/or doing this kind of work. If that were true then you could go to your average local mechanic or machine shop and walk out with one of these boxes done "on the cheap", and the folks at Firm Feel wouldn't be very nearly alone in doing it.

I applaud the man from B C for finding someone local to his local area to do it, for you see I too, have a local guy to do this work, his name just happens to be Dick Ross.

I'm getting in on this a little (or a lot) late, but I have a stage III in my scamp and I love it. Steering is tight and responsive. I only have about 1500 miles on it but no leaks so far.

I installed RMS UCA's in at the same time and with the two together it's like driving an entirely different car.

Dick was also always really good about answering the phone whenever I called. Just expect to wait 3-4 weeks to get the steering box after you order.

i love this site! i have already bought front and rear swaybars from Firm Feel and plan on a gear box and uca's. he is GREAT to deal with! icalled him a bunch of times over all the handling stuff picking his brain and he never gets pissy or doesn't want to talk to you. i have alot of different hobbies, and most of these companies nowadays act like you owe them something because you buy their ****! but not dick! i will be getting my box as a stage 3 after reading all the input! thanks guys!

I bought a front sway bar for my 67 ragtop Barracuda and it fit great. I am running the 73 disc brake setup with large bolt pattern. I also bought the stage II power steering box but I am not running down the road yet so no feedback on it.

I had the gear box for my 67 Fury rebuilt by Steer and Gear and opted for their "firm feel" and I'm happy with it. No leaks and you can "feel" the steering. Daddy likey.
