Good come back.........
Nice first car. Keep it, you won't regret it.

Welcome to the site. Great car. Looks clean for being your first ride. Don't listen to the ignorant losers from school. I was pretty much the only kid in highschool with an old car. I had a lot of snobs at my school that didn't know an exhaust pipe from a spark plug.

I like it when young guys don't follow the crowd. What are your plans with the car? Maybe a small block and a 904?

Quick story, my son bought a 65 Dodge Coronet with a 440, purple cam, headers, thermoquad etc... Went to a local car wash to clean it up and just before we were finished some snot nose in a rice rocket started reving his engine. Sounded like a sewing machine on NOS. Once he was through, my son fired up the 440 and showed him was a real car sounded like. I thought this kid was going to piss his pants. Now that's a car, one that sets off car alarms on rice rockets when he fires it up.

Same story here, Mitch. I used to tell those guys that after 30+ years my car was still a car, while theirs will be recycled into coke cans and dishwashers since that's about what they're worth.

You Have one super nice valiant there,Welcome to f.a.b.o.!! even if they have snyde comments about your car best to be cool with them, you wouldn't wan't a comment on your part to cause them to vandalize your ride so keep it civil. They can go from 0 to stupid real fast and I don't mean the car's

Welcome to FABO! I, too, have a youngster in the family who has bucked the trend of fart can mufflers and erector set spoilers. Gotta agree with Waggin on keepin' it civil as the fart can crowd isn't the brightest of the bunch, hence the reason they've fallen for the idea of Honda+fart can= horsepower. You do have some good comebacks for 'em, though. Their car company also makes lawnmowers so they put the erector set spoilers on 'em to make 'em resemble a lawnmower. I've always liked that one for some reason.

Welcome mitch!
An nice ride there!

Dont worry about those rice burners, when i bought
my charger everyone was buying nissan 200sx,180sx, an
they all thought big woop bout my charger.
6 years later, there cars are worth 10 thousand dollars less than
what they bought them for,an mines tripled in value!
Go figure!
Even better yet,ask em if they wanna play chicken,an see who
wins lol

Nice car mate,look after it!

Great looking Valiant. In the 'big picture' what the kids at your high school think isn't such a big deal. The important thing in life is to do what you like. Just tell 'em nicely, you like your car, they are free to like or dislike it, if all people were the same it would be a boring world.

Great looking Valiant, Mitch. Welcome to FABO. You're gonna have fun here!
Here's a pic of the '68 Valiant "400" our club (Inland Mopars Car Club) built as our charity project car last year. "400" because it had a 440" big block and 727 in it when we finished. Also a complete RMS AlterKtion front and Street Lynx rear suspension. Handled like a slot car.

Beautiful car, Mitch! Your choice of cars tells me you're a lot more mature than your ricer classmates. And since you obviously appreciate standing out from the crowd, stick with the slant! They're lots of fun to play with, and you can get plenty of support in the slant section here on FABO or at slantsix.org.

Best of luck, and let us know if we can help!

Great looking car! Wish I had one like that in high school. Don't pay any attention to the ricetards. Their sh!theaps will be on their 3rd or 4th recycle as pop cans in 20 years. Always nice to see young guns that appreciate old Mopar iron:salute:

get used to it, not many younger kids into the hobby, much less into mopars. I graduated high school a year ago, bought my duster when I was a sophmore....now I get to hang out with the old guys.8)

Ya sorry I just don't get the whole Honda thing either.First off I am American so I by American. How many of the Honda are going to be around in 30 or 40 years.Mopar all the way Baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome Mitch,

Yep street racing is out, track racing maybe, but enjoy the ride as We all remember our first eye poppers. My 67 coronet was mine, the kids laughed all the time with their BMW's and Dads imports, But they couldn't hang with that v8. Keep it between the ditches, we'd whole lot rather talk to ya , than read about ya.

Mitch,
I wish half the teenagers out there appreciated these old mopars like you do! Be proud to be a leader, not a follower! Trust me, one day you will look back and smile because you stood your ground and didn't give in to the rice rocket loving snot gobblers out there. :) Welcome to FABO
