XHD Leaf springs in CA.

-
I wanted to help you but I can't. Sorry. I got home from work and checked my receipts for the '75 Dart Sport I had bought those leafs for. But since I no longer have the car I must have thrown out the receipts too. Oh well. I tell you, that $349 does not sound bad to me if it's free shipping.

That's about what I paid for the springs on my 71 Charger

I just ordered the XHD springs from my local Chrysler dealership, they had the left one in 3 days. It,s taking 2 weeks for the right one to show.Cost $300.

You realise that the right side spring will raise the right rear of the car about an 1 1/2 higher than the left side?

I ordered the left and right (same part numbers you posted) thru my Chrysler dealer out here and realised the expensive way that the car doesn't sit level with the left and right springs. I wound up ordering another left spring (and they don't accept returns so I've got a new right spring collecting dust).

where are u located? i realize that they sit at different heights. the bias design helps with better traction though. i might be interested in buying your right spring if price is right. thanks.

for what its worth I have Mopar XHD springs (from the dealer) and the car sat only slightly higher on the pass side. This was easily corrected with torsion bar adjustment…

This is another example of the inconsistency of XHD springs from the dealer.

thanks. i've also heard that if you have shackles, this automatically corrects the difference.

but either way, i've overall heard great things about the springs and they seem like what i need.

I'm further up the coast.... Vancouver, Canada. I know I won't get what I paid for it but something is better then nothing. Shipping might be the killer though... what do you think is a reasonable price for it (shipping not included)?

cheapest i can get it locally is 180. so i wouldn't want to spend any more than that including shipping. not sure how much shipping would be. i'm sure it would be killer though
:(

349 seems a little high to me even though there is free shipping. i just found my mancini racing invoice from when i ordered mine here is the breakdown.

left spring.......................................107.50
right spring......................................107.50
rear shackle set................................39.95
shipping...........................................96.39
total...............................................351.34

i know the shipping was rediculous but you could get the shackles too for the same price as just the pst springs. i am in hayward ca so i dont see why the shipping would change too much. i dont understand why the pst springs are so much more. seems like they just added the shipping cost in and said free shipping.

oh yeah and this was pretty recent that i ordered these. the invoice was 4/8/2009 so i would think the pricing would still be the same. good luck!

thanks. i'll probably end up going through mancini then. i'll be ordering them mondat.

the shackles that i already have should work with no problem right?
is there any reason that i would need new ones? thanks..

they are not cheap look at super stock spings are cheaper to buy or check ebay

SS springs are way to "overkill" for what i need though. i only have a 318

Personally, I wouldn't use SS springs on a car that I expected good handling on. I had a set on my car in the past and took them off for the sake of handling. But, I want the best I can get; I don't like settling for less just for a few bucks. I still have the SS springs though in case anyone here in the NY area is interested ;-)

SS springs, by design are made for drag racing….

A great many on here have bought SS springs, only to sell them at a loss and switch to XHDs (or another stock replacement).

Or…

They modify the mounting of the SS springs… Lowering blocks and/or front hangers….. In an attempt to correct a problem with rear ride height. Really… The only problem is they got the wrong rear spring.

With that said…. I'm sure someone is going to post how they think SS springs are the greatest thing in the world.

yes. this is why i decided to go with the more expensive XHD's. i'm not gonna be drag racing too much, it'll be more of a driver. so these xhd springs are my best bed i think. i'll be ordering tomorrow from mancini probably.

if your shackles are good you dont need new ones. i just got them because i was rebuilding everything and mine were shot. glad i could help.

Don,t forget new bushings for the front.Mine came without bushings in the front(came in rear).Just thought I,d remind you before ordering.Order a bushing kit for the front while re and reing.
